Key benefits :

  • Network devices and servers monitoring
  • Main map with a feature of presenting hierarchical structure instead of all hosts view on one map
  • Subnetworks as separate views

Challenge

The network at the UNICEF Polish National Committee is built with Cisco technology. It uses  two firewalls, one router, five switches and five servers including two direct connect devices and one File&Print. There are  a total of 30 workstations in the organization.

Before choosing NetCrunch, network administrators at the UNICEF Polish National Committee tested several network monitoring solutions. NetCrunch won with the highest price/quality ratio.

“During NetCrunch deployment process, we had a problem with disc space monitoring on servers that use RAID technology. However, AdRem’s support team gave us some helpful hints to solve the case” – tells us one of the UNICEF Polish National Committee network administrators.

Solution

“The most helpful features of NetCrunch software are monitoring services on the servers and sending reports via e-mail. Earlier we hadn’t been receiving any information about network problems with network services served by our servers (DNS, DHCP, MySQL). Monitoring and reporting offered by NetCrunch successfully resolved that issue.”

“Fortunately, since NetCrunch deployment, there hasn't been any critical situation or a failure, which NetCrunch could alert us about. Truly, this is what we actually wish for” – eventually adds our interlocutor.

UNICEF Polish National Committee

Poland was the first country in Eastern Europe, where UNICEF National Committee was established.
Since 1962 it has been playing a significant role in the Polish children’s rights improvement. UNICEF Polish National Committee was also organizing support for health centers and help production of food and other stuff dedicated for children.

With political, economical and social transformation after 1989, National Committee’s function has changed. In 2002, Poland was classified as a developed country, so that UNICEF Polish bureau focused on help targeted to children from the world’s poorest countries.

UNICEF Polish National Committee sets up social campaigns to raise funds for its charity projects. It invites Goodwill Ambassadors, who lend their image to support organization’s projects in Poland. Also it runs educational actions for children’s rights obedience. UNICEF sells charities postcards and other products, and the income is spent to aid actions.

UNICEF Polish National Committee is Public Benefit Organization; therefore it is allowed to receive 1% of income tax to execute its statutory objectives.
